Prof. Stalmans shares her experience with Ultrasound Ciliary Plasty (UCP) for glaucoma treatment
Who are the ideal patients?
Prof. Stalmans shares her clinical experience of using EYE TECH CARE’s second-generation EyeOP1 UCP system. Having performed around 300 procedures to date, she describes which patients are candidates for the procedure, the technique itself, and the outcomes she achieves – a ~70 percent response rate, with a mean IOP reduction of 35 percent. She finds that UCP is well-tolerated, fast and straightforward to use, and explains the advantages of this non-invasive approach relative to more invasive surgical procedures – there’s no risk of infection, serious hypotony or the other complications seen with surgery.
