Last month, Siegfried Wagner of the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre at Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology gave a TEDx Talk. He described how deep learning and AI-powered eye care can detect dementia – one of the leading causes of death in the UK. To that end, Wagner highlighted the importance of high-resolution non-invasive retinal scanning in the clinic – and the community.
