This series is an opportunity to learn about four key areas of ophthalmology. Throughout 2020, The Ophthalmologist and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, with clinicians from Moorfields, are partnering to deliver quarterly grand round events. The first event will focus on Diabetic Retinopathy and will be followed by AMD, Glaucoma and rare diseases. Senior researchers and clinicians will teach on their work in the relevant areas and will give opportunity to ask questions.

This event was held at UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and streamed online. It included a presentation of two NIHR studies exploring the role of modern imaging, technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) and what they mean for the future of Diabetic Retinopathy in the UK. There was also a talk on patient education and digital engagement from Roxanne Crosby-Nwaobi, Head of Research Nursing at Moorfields Eye Hospital.
