Harry W.. Flynn comments: “The motivation for my career path has been guided by the pleasure of patient care, teaching, and clinical research. With the help of this entire team of people, I have authored or co-authored over 774 papers in peer-reviewed journals, approximately 300 papers in non-peer reviewed publications, 10 books and over 135 book chapters. This could not have been accomplished without the help of residents, fellows, medical students, and my colleagues.

At various meetings including the AAO, ARVO, and subspecialty societies, I have presented clinical research outcomes. It is a unique experience to be able to divide my time between clinical care, teaching and clinical research. Over the years, I have participated in the ETDRS and the DRCR (Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research) Data & Safety Monitoring Committee. At the University of Miami, I have been a part of the University Credentials Committee and headed the Infection Control Committee of our hospital. In recent years my clinical research has been focused on endophthalmitis and infectious diseases. It has been a source of great pleasure and pride to participate in all of these activities during the past 47 years.”
