Eric Donnenfeld is the founder and managing partner of Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island, which has grown into five states. Over the past year he has served as President of the International Intraocular Implant Society (IIIC) and chaired a retreat in New York City of many of the most influential cataract surgeons in the world. He is also a trustee of Dartmouth Medical School and a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at New York University. He is one of the busiest surgeons in the northeast of the United States, and performs complex cataract surgery and anterior segment reconstruction, laser vision correction, corneal transplantation and ocular surface disease management.
Over the past year he has also been an FDA investigator for two multifocal IOLs, two extended depth of focus IOLs, cell therapy for corneal endothelial decompensation, and two pharmaceuticals for dry eye. He has published nine peer review publications in the last 18 months and has lectured on five continents. He is on the board of five ophthalmic companies and consults with 50 ophthalmology companies. Donnenfeld continues to be dedicated to teaching and is director of his anterior segment fellowship. He is an active member of ASCRS, AAO, ESCRS, AECOS, Cedars-Aspen, and the IIIC. He is passionate about improving vision, advancing technology, and improving quality of life.
