Georgia Eye Partners (GEP, Atlanta, GA) has announced the addition of glaucoma specialist Dr. Cynthia M. Guerin to its Midtown and Decatur locations, as well as Center for Sight's Conyers office.
Dr. Guerin is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the surgical and medical treatment of glaucoma and cataracts, as well as comprehensive ophthalmology.
Dr. Guerin earned dual bachelor's degrees in biological sciences and psychology, with a minor in chemistry, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), graduating summa cum laude and with honors. She earned her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine, where she graduated with distinction in medical law and ethics. She completed her internship and ophthalmology residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, serving as chief resident during her final year. Dr. Guerin recently completed an AUPO-compliant glaucoma fellowship at Cincinnati Eye Institute /University of Cincinnati.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Guerin has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented research at national and regional conferences on topics including glaucoma, pediatric ophthalmology, retinal disease and complex ocular pathology. She is also actively involved in physician advocacy through the American Academy of Ophthalmology, supporting efforts to improve patient safety, access to care and physician training.
Dr. Guerin is passionate about building long-term relationships with patients and providing evidence-based care tailored to each individual's needs and goals. "My goal is to ensure every patient feels informed, supported and confident throughout their treatment journey," she said.
