Recognizing Global Education Impact

The Ophthalmologist is proud to launch its second annual initiative recognizing the global educational impact of the institutions and programs that are leading the way in tackling health inequity.
Last year’s feature showcased the work of institutions such as Oftalmo University (Mexico), The International Centre for Eye Health (UK), The University of Colorado School of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology (US), and Aravind Eye Care System (India).
For 2024, we would like readers of The Ophthalmologist to recommend an institution or program that they believe are leading the way in:
- fostering cutting-edge technology
- pairing local students and practitioners with expert mentors
- rolling out initiatives to upskill students and trainees in the far corners of the world
- bring new generations of ophthalmologists from diverse backgrounds and cultures into the profession
Whatever their approach, we want to showcase institutions that are united by the same ultimate aim: to ensure that everyone has access to quality eye care, regardless of location, age, or socioeconomic status.
