New UKEG Presidents
President and President-elect of the UK and Éire Glaucoma Society announced

Glaucoma UK has announced the new President and President-elect for the UK and Éire Glaucoma Society (UKEGS).
Taking over from Nishani Amerasinghe, the 2025 President, Andrew Tatham, is a consultant at Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, Edinburgh. He is the NHS Research Scotland Clinical Lead for Ophthalmology and Honorary Reader at University of Edinburgh. President-elect is Leon Au, consultant ophthalmologist in Manchester. Au will be taking over as President in 2026.
UKEGS, which forms part of Glaucoma UK, is a non-profit national scientific society. It aims to promote the exchange of knowledge between glaucoma specialists, stimulate glaucoma research and protect the interests of people living with glaucoma, or at risk of developing the disease. Each year, UKEGS hosts a two-day conference that provides an important focus for glaucoma professionals. The theme this year in Edinburgh will be “What Matters Most – Priorities for improving glaucoma care.”
