In Conversation With… Bill Trattler

Whilst in Barcelona for the XXXIII Congress of the ESCRS 2015, Mark Hillen, editor of The Ophthalmologist, invited key participants of the conference to take part in an exciting new video project: “In Conversation With...”, an ongoing series of informal interviews with some of the biggest personalities in ophthalmology in glorious settings around the globe.

Next up: Miami-based Bill Trattler. An ophthalmologist at the leading edge of developments in cataract and refractive surgery, with a research interest in dry eye, we interviewed Bill in the Presidential Suite of the Hesperia Tower Hotel in Barcelona, Spain. Our conversation saw us discussing OCT imaging of the anterior segment, keratoconus, Epi-on versus Epi-off CXL, dry eye disease and what’s in the pipeline for this last disorder, including an office-based kit for the preparation of autologous platelet-rich plasma. Finally, we get Bill’s perspective on what were his highlights from this year’s ESCRS congress.
