DSEK is a vast improvement on antiquated corneal graft techniques, allowing the introduction of a healthy endothelial cell layer. From the floor of this year’s AAO, Keith Walter explains the ways in which CorneaGen’s EndoSerter builds upon 15 years of refinement. The EndoSerter is now preloaded, making tissue insertion faster, easier, and more accurate. The preloading eliminates the need for surgeons to cut tissue in the operating room, saving time and increasing the reliability of the process. Irrigation flows through the device, which makes a second incision unnecessary. CorneaGen’s bundling of the tissue with the EndoSerter can also save doctors and practices money, making it great news for both patients and clinicians.
