Make a bold prediction for the future of retina treatment.

New drugs will reduce rates of blindness through early treatment and lengthen treatment intervals. Improved technology for vitreoretinal surgery will shorten operative times and improve visual acuity outcomes.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

I recommend that the retina specialist starting out should get involved in the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS), the Vit-Buckle Society, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) with instructional courses and political action groups.
