How do you think AI and machine learning will impact the field?

AI will mostly affect diagnostic fields in ophthalmology – particularly pathology and radiology. However, patient driven diagnosis through the use of AI algorithms, in which patients input historical information and photographs, will result in preliminary diagnoses that patients can bring to an ophthalmologist’s office.
