Despite spending my professional life and education in cities, I am actually from a very small town in the UK where my brother and I were the only non-Caucasian people.

A person you look up to…

There are many, but Claes Dohlman is someone I particularly look up to – I met him at ARVO over 20 years ago, and his enthusiasm and drive are inspirational. Shigeru Kinoshita is another who fits into this category, for me – an absolutely fantastic clinician scientist.
