I have a few critical tips for the young physician in the beginning of their career: choose an interesting niche which speaks to you, and concentrate all of your efforts to facilitate its advancement. Simultaneously, find a good mentor, who will help with goal setting, networking, negotiation skills, career advancement and provide guidance regarding research and publications.
A little-known or interesting thing about you...
Even though I put a lot of energy and effort into my career, I think that my family is the most important thing for me. My husband, three children, their three spouses, and my five grandchildren are the most important thing for me in the world.
If you weren’t an ophthalmologist…
I would probably be a specialist in internal medicine, and in a sub-specialty of that – trying to find new technologies for personalized medicine.
