What is your proudest professional achievement? 

Being awarded the honorary fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.

Why is it important to celebrate women in the field this way?

It is important for women in training (and throughout their development stages) are made aware that gender should not be a barrier to progression in their chosen field.

What can be done to make the field more diverse?  

There needs to be appropriate mentorship to trainees to allow them to develop their career path and ensure that they achieve their goals.

Outside of ophthalmology, what makes you happy?  

Being with my two grown-up children, their spouses, and my husband as a family.
