About Ashiyana Nariani
Assistant Professor, King Edward Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, India
Why do you think it is important that we celebrate women in ophthalmology?
Women take action and can move mountains. Yet, it is in their humility and compassion wherein lies the secret to peace and to building bridges of love in this world.
What is your proudest professional achievement?
The smiles that I receive from the faces of the poorest of patients that I have the honor and privilege to serve.
Outside of work, what makes you happy?
My spiritual mentor and best friend, Dada J.P. Vaswani taught me that the endpoint of education is service and sacrifice. It is in the spirit service and sacrifice that I have found happiness.
