Take the greatest variety of opportunities that come your way as it will make for the most interesting life.

The most serendipitous moment of your career?  

When I didn’t get a job I applied for in London and ended up getting a job in Oxford. This led to more time with my future wife that meant I ended up with a lifelong job in London – it came full circle in the end!

The most unexpected turn your career took? 

I expected to live and work in Australia, which is where I am from, and I ended up in London.
