About Hunter Cherwek
Piece of advice for your younger self?
The expression, “Hindsight is always 20/20” resonates loudly as you age, mature, and grow. Gaining wisdom through this vision tunnel and reliving different moments in your life through remembrance offers all of us unique insights to “what could have been.”
From the start of my career in global ophthalmology, I have been fortunate to meet and interact with some of the most amazing people on the planet. If I could go back and whisper advice into the ear of my younger self, I would point out the amazing opportunity given to me and instill a sense of hindsight to the journey that lay ahead. I would tell “myself” to take more time absorbing and appreciating the places, people and things that surrounded me. I would end by telling the younger me not to sweat the small things; worries aren’t as important as they seem at the time. Be kind to yourself, be kind to others. Time is not to be taken for granted.
