That I live a long, healthy, and alert life. That I die before those I love do. That my life is remembered by the much good I hope to make happen.

Piece of advice for your younger self?

Listen more, I rarely learned anything when I was talking. 

The most important moment of your career?

Professionally… the day I received my letter of acceptance to medical school, and the day I was able to honor the memory of my ophthalmologist father by establishing an endowed chair in his name at Johns Hopkins.

The most unexpected turn your career took?

I was forced from a leadership role only to land at UCSF and ForSight, which has been the most productive and instructive time of my life.
