What are your goals for the future?
“I would like to develop the Asian Eye Institute as the go-to place for clinical research. We have extensive experience in doing research studies on presbyopia, IOL innovations, refractive technologies and glaucoma. My team will continue to acquire knowledge and skills so our site can provide accurate and reliable data to fulfill our research commitments. I would like to connect with companies developing innovative technologies in Ophthalmology and collaborate with them.”
What has been your most successful collaboration?
“In 2008, I became involved in the multicenter study for the Acufocus Kamra Inlay. This project started my passion for presbyopia research. In addition, this project has taught me how to do a clinical trial the correct way. We even passed a USFDA audit during this study. We have since moved on to doing studies on the small aperture IOL. After 10 years and with a publication and a best paper under our belt, I am grateful to the Acufocus team for this fruitful and dynamic relationship. And we are not done yet.
What drives you day-to-day?
“My wife and kids inspire me every day. I look forward to finishing a long day and coming home and relaxing with them. I am blessed with a team that support me in providing the best quality care to my patients, a clinic that provides a relaxing environment for me to do my work and a pool of patients that trust me enough to take care of them and to refer their friends and relatives to me. Going to the clinic does not feel like work but a hobby that comes with a salary.”
