Hugh Taylor has a long and distinguished career in research into the causes and prevention of blindness in both developed and developing countries, and has published extensively. His current work focuses on Aboriginal eye health and the elimination of trachoma. Taylor is the Treasurer of the ICO and Vice President of
the IAPB.
