Welcome to the March/April issue of The Ophthalmologist! Dominating this issue is our annual Power List Top 100, where we showcase the most influential and inspirational individuals in global ophthalmology. As well as presenting a few changes to the Top 20 this year, an overriding and inescapable theme of this Power List is the increasing impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) on ophthalmology. The March/April issue also features an interview with Power Lister Francesca Cordeiro, Chair and Professor of Ophthalmology at Imperial College London, who extols the virtues of keeping one’s mind open to new ideas.
