Cassini Technologies (The Hague, Netherlands) has announced that the Cassini Guidance System has received Medical Device Regulation (MDR) approval and is now available across the European Union.

The system provides intraoperative intraocular lens  (IOL) alignment within 3° of target (1) through real-time tracking with overlay and integrates with all major microscopes to support efficient operating room workflows.“Patients have a high expectation that they are getting the best visual outcome,” said Dr. William Wiley. “It’s Cassini’s combination of preoperative planning and intraoperative visualization that gives me the precision I need.”

"Receiving MDR approval for the Cassini Guidance System is an important milestone for Cassini Technologies,” said Richard Spijkers, CEO. “European surgeons and surgical teams can now implement our system with regulatory confidence.”
