Myopia Focus has launched a new online Tool Creator platform designed to help eye care professionals improve patient education and engagement around myopia management.
The platform enables practices to create and embed interactive tools directly into their own websites, allowing them to explain complex myopia concepts more clearly to parents and children.
Available tools include myopia vision simulators, risk assessment questionnaires, axial length estimators, axial length tracking charts, and “Every Dioptre Matters” risk communication tools. The platform also includes broader website engagement tools, such as interactive product hotspots and before-and-after image sliders.
Practices can customize the tools through a web-based dashboard, adjusting language, text, colors, branding, services, and treatment offerings before embedding them via simple HTML code.
Richard Kadri-Langford, co-founder of Myopia Focus, said the tools are intended as educational resources rather than diagnostic systems. He added that the goal is to help parents better understand how myopia affects their child’s vision, what progression may mean over time, and why early management matters.
"We noticed that many practices refer their visitors to external websites for information and tools instead of offering resources directly, which is not the best way for them or their customers," he added. “This led us to build the Tool Creator platform, enabling practices to embed interactive educational resources on their own sites, making complex myopia topics clearer and more engaging for both parents and patients.”
The launch comes amid growing global awareness of myopia management, particularly around early intervention, axial length monitoring, and long-term risk communication.
Myopia Focus says the tools are based on published research data and established clinical concepts, with methodology documents available to explain the assumptions behind the models used.
Commenting on the platform, Neema Ghorbani Mojarrad, Associate Professor at the University of Bradford, UK, said interactive tools can help make discussions around progression risk, axial length, and future eye health more accessible for patients than static web pages or printed leaflets.
Jason Higginbotham, co-founder and Managing Editor of Myopia Focus, said the platform supports the organization’s wider mission to help parents understand childhood myopia, recognize the availability of progression-slowing treatments, and connect with myopia management specialists for further support.
Myopia Focus plans to continue expanding the platform with additional educational resources, comparison tools, and enhanced customization options. The Tool Creator platform is now available, with free sign-up offered through the service website.
