iCare is paving a new direction in the field of perimetry with the development of the iCare COMPASS Automated Tracked Perimeter. The technology is complete with active retinal tracking, up to 100° high-resolution imaging, detailed progression analysis, and innovative features such as ZEST Fast.
Set apart from other Perimetry systems on the market, the iCare COMPASS utilizes an active retinal tracker to perform visual field tests. The tracker compensates for any fixation loss of eye movement and, in doing so, provides an accurate match between function (retinal sensitivity values) and structure (fundus image). This results in an effective and reliable longterm monitoring of retinal defects. The easy-to-use user interface doesn’t require any training, making it an invaluable tool for all healthcare professionals in ophthalmology.
Now featuring the new and improved ZEST Fast strategy, iCare COMPASS results in 30 percent faster visual field tests in glaucoma compared to the previous ZEST strategy and boasts 40 percent more efficiency in healthy patients. Accuracy is not negatively impacted by the faster strategy; rather, patient experiences are improved. The new Smart Progression Analysis offers a high-detailed report to evaluate the visual field at various stages of its deterioration, including progression assessment, progression rate, and prediction. To complete the trinity, the new SmartMosaic feature allows for the acquisition of high-definition 100° TrueColor montage images, making it easier for clinicians to detect changes in the retina or optic disc.
It is for all these features that the iCare COMPASS Automated Tracked Perimeter is setting a new direction in visual field tests. With world renowned ophthalmologists such as Professor Oliver Findl and Professor Kaweh Mansouri endorsing the device, its innovative features may hold significant promise for the future of ophthalmology (1).
