Hello, It's Halloween!

"Nothing says Halloween like a monocular doorbell with slight ptosis!"

Do you enjoy decorating your home for Halloween or wearing spooky costumes? Do you naturally go for the eyeball theme? Here, we share scary ideas from some of our contributors.
If you have any spooky creations you'd like to share, please send them to edit@theophthalmologist.com ahead of next year's Halloween or tag us on social media so we can repost them ahead of the big day on Sunday, October 31!

If you're coming to visit Malik Y. Kahook at his home, you're in for a treat... or, rather, a trick! Kahook comments: "Nothing says Halloween like a monocular doorbell with slight ptosis. Halloween is always a fun holiday for us in Colorado. The weather is always beautiful and we have a chance to bond with neighbors through very friendly competitions by decorating our homes for the holiday."

The door of Sathi Maiti has also had a makeover, ready for Halloween...

Maiti also likes to decorate her workplace, the Periman Eye Institute in Seattle, Washington, US. She says: "Halloween is one of the few holidays where eye decor is already abundant! It's so easy to find different eye related decorations and candy this time of year, why not have fun and be creative with it? Patients love it, and it's enjoyable to come up with ideas of what to make and put together each year."

A few years ago, Maiti crocheted a few creations, which she called Cornea-copia.

She also likes to dress up for Halloween, and this costume must be a great conversation starter at work!

Having edited several technical publications over the last decade, I crossed paths with quite a few of Texere's current team members, and I only ever heard them sing the company's praises. When an opportunity arose to join Texere, I jumped at the chance! With a background in literature, I love the company's ethos of producing genuinely engaging content, and the fact that it is so well received by our readers makes it even more rewarding.
