Sathish Srinivasan, interviewed recently by Phoebe Harkin, knew he wanted to be an ocular surgeon early in his childhood. He would assist his father with operations throughout his teens, and he practiced his own surgical skills on tomatoes! He performed his first cataract surgery when he was just 16.

Did you have a head start like this, or was ophthalmology a last-minute decision for you? Let me know on edit@theophthalmologist.com! Until next time, Aleksandra Jones, Editor
