The Ophthalmologist Power List 2016

Back in 2014, The Ophthalmologist put its fledgling reputation on the line by publishing a list of 100 names: the Power List. We asked you, our readers, to nominate the people you thought had made the biggest impact on the practice of ophthalmology today, in order to celebrate their achievements and contributions to the field.

Clinicians, scientists, captains of industry, venture capitalists and the purest of all academics made the list, and the impact was huge. Last year saw us perform the same process on ophthalmology’s rising stars in the Top 40 Under 40 Power List, but 2016 sees the return of the original Power List format.

Getting involved is easy: tell us who you want to vote for – up to five people – and why you voted for them, here: top.txp.to/powerlist-2016. It’s as simple as that.

An expert panel, comprised of leading figures from across each of the main disciplines of ophthalmology, will then judge the submissions and rank accordingly, and a combination of votes cast and their rankings will yield the final 2016 Power List.

People have to be in it to win it, and accordingly, we urge you to nominate your beloved colleagues and respected peers – especially those who do not readily promote themselves or their own achievements.

The Power List is a celebration – and we invite you to join us in cheering on this wonderful field and the excellent work that you all do. You’ve got the power!
