José F. Alfonso

José F. Alfonso, MD, PhD, is Professor and Chair of Ophthalmology at the University of Oviedo and Head of the Fernández-Vega Ophthalmological Institute in Oviedo, Spain. He is internationally recognized for his contributions to phakic intraocular lens surgery and refractive cataract surgery, with more than thirty years of clinical and research experience in corneal and lens-based refractive procedures. Dr. Alfonso has authored more than 400 peer-reviewed publications and lectures widely on patient-centric refractive evaluation, ICL surgery, and the long-term management of myopic disease.
