Ehud Assia

Ehud Assia, once referred to as a “rock star” of ophthalmology for his role in developing CO2 lasers for use in glaucoma surgery, is the Director of the Department of Ophthalmology at Meir Medical Center in Kfar-Saba and the Medical Director of the Ein-Tal Eye Center in Tel- Aviv, in addition to being a full Professor of Ophthalmology at the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel-Aviv University. Both he and his wife, Ayala (a pediatrician) enjoy the humanitarian mission trips they make to rural areas in countries like Nepal, China, Ethiopia, and India.
