Ann Sofia Skou Thomsen is a board-certified ophthalmologist and clinical research associate professor in ophthalmology at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, with a PhD in technology-enhanced training and assessment of surgical skills. She is associated with Department of Ophthalmology, Rigshospitalet, and Copenhagen Academy of Medical Education and Simulation (CAMES). Her research spans virtual reality–based simulation training, transfer of skills, objective skills assessment, and robot-assisted surgery — with multiple peer-reviewed publications.
