Late last year I invited four young, but already accomplished refractive surgeons from all over the world to take part in a virtual “roundtable” meeting. What followed was a brilliant, honest discussion about their choice of career, finding the best refractive training and then practice to join, as well as stepping out of their mentors’ shadows. You can watch the roundtable featuring Andrea Ang, Martin Dirisamer, Ben LaHood and Ashiyana Nariani – four very different people, with experiences from four continents – here, and if you click on the story below, it will take you to the written version instead. Enjoy!

Until next time, Aleksandra Jones, Editor.
